Last updated: 21 October 2026
Who we are
TechEssentials is a managed IT and cybersecurity provider based in Christ Church, Barbados. We are the data controller for personal data collected through this website. You can contact us about privacy at info@techessentialsonline.com.
What we collect
- Information you send us: when you use our contact form or email us, we collect your name, company, email address, phone number, the service you're interested in and anything you write in your message.
- Information collected automatically: like most websites, our site and hosting platform collect basic technical information such as your IP address, browser type, pages visited and the time of your visit, and may use cookies and similar technologies to keep the site working and understand how it is used.
How we use it
- To respond to your enquiry and arrange any consultation or assessment you request.
- To provide, manage and improve our services if you become a client.
- To keep our website secure and understand how visitors use it.
- To meet our legal, accounting and regulatory obligations.
We use your information on the basis of your consent (for example, when you send us an enquiry), to take steps at your request before entering into a contract, for our legitimate interests in running and securing our business, or where the law requires it. We do not sell your personal data, and we will only send you marketing emails if you have agreed to receive them. You can opt out at any time.
Who we share it with
We only share personal data with service providers who help us run our business and our website, such as our website and form hosting provider (Wix) and our email and productivity services. These providers process data on our behalf and are required to protect it. Some of them store data outside Barbados; where this happens, we rely on providers that apply appropriate safeguards to protect your information. We may also disclose information where required by law.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry information for as long as we need it to respond to you and follow up, and client information for the length of our relationship and as long afterwards as required for legal, accounting or contractual reasons. We then delete or anonymise it.
How we protect it
As a cybersecurity provider, we apply the same controls we recommend to our clients, including access controls, multi-factor authentication and encryption where appropriate, to protect personal data against loss, misuse and unauthorised access.
Your rights
Under the Barbados Data Protection Act, 2019, you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
- ask us to correct data that is inaccurate or incomplete;
- ask us to delete your data, or to restrict how we use it;
- object to our use of your data, including for direct marketing;
- withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on consent; and
- complain to the Data Protection Commissioner if you are unhappy with how we handle your data.
To exercise any of these rights, email info@techessentialsonline.com. We may need to confirm your identity before responding.
